Drew Price

6x Australian Karting Champion

In 1972 at the age of 17 Drew Price won the first of six Australian Karting Championships at the Burnie Circuit in Tasmania.

That on-track success was the catalyst for Price to become a real pioneer in the manufacturing and distribution of karting products in Australia.

Starting in his father’s backyard shed, Price has built DPE Kart Technology into a powerful force in national and international karting.

The Arrow, Monaco and Deadly brands manufactured by DPE Kart Technology have won 128 National Championships and more than 1300 State titles.

The Arrow Kart has also won major championships in New Zealand, Japan, Malaysia and America.

Price’s sixth and final national kart title as driver came in 1984 and he has shown he is just as successful and clever in business, as he was in racing.

While karting was Price’s main game, he was also a fast and versatile racer who played a key role as teammate to John Smith in Toyota Team Australia’s touring car campaigns.

Driving a Toyota Corolla, Price finished second in the 1987 Australian Two Litre Championship and joined Smith for ninth outright in the 1988 Bathurst 1000.

Price was also star turn in the premier open wheel Formula Brabham series finishing equal third in the 1992 CAMS Australian Drivers Championship.
