In a decade of domination Mat Mladin won an unmatched seven American Superbike Championships while amassing a still-record 75 victories in American Motorcycle Association national races.

The first of Mladin’s seven American titles came in 1999 and then in 2000 he was the first Australian rider to win the Daytona 200, widely regarded as the world’s premier individual superbike race.

The honour roll for the Daytona 200 includes two-wheel superstars Giacomo Agostini, Kevin Schwantz and the legendary King Kenny Roberts.

With wins in 2001 and 2004, Mladin’s status sky-rocketed as he joined Roberts as a three-time winner of the Daytona classic.

To keep up his fast-paced schedule, Mladin indulged his passion for aviation, piloting himself to races across America.

A far cry from humble beginnings on 250cc production bikes followed by his break-out performance to win the 1992 Australian Superbike Championship.

International talent scouts came knocking and after a brief flirtation with Cagiva in the 1993 500cc world championship, Mladin set his sights on America where he became an almost unstoppable force with the Suzuki team.

In 2009 Mladin announced his retirement, the same year that he clinched his record seventh American Superbike title.
