Troy Corser

2x World Superbike Champion

Troy Corser was another of the very fast two wheel men from Wollongong.

Seemingly better suited to production-based Superbikes than grand prix MotoGP machines, he won the Australian and United States AMA Superbike championships and, in 1996 and 2005, the world championship

In a long career – 17 years in World Superbikes – Corser started in 377 races for 33 wins, 45 fastest laps and 130 podium positions.

Impressively that’s a top three finish in better than every third race over 17 years, from age 20 to age 40.

He was even more impressive in qualifying, scoring 43 Pole positions in around 185 race meetings.

Between winning his world titles on Ducati and then Suzuki, Corser also raced for Yamaha on Superbikes and grand prix bikes, along with Aprilia, Petronas and BMW on Superbikes.
